Tomato Wars

Tomato Wars is a game installation in the street market of the Exarcheia district, in Athens. Street markets are a common place in Greek cities. Consumers can find there fresh products in particularly low prices. In Athens, every neighborhood holds a street market. The project has a double goal. From one hand it aims to emphasize on the ephemeral qualities of art, as they appear in the technologically driven media based and performative artfields, by making use of a series of, by default, ephemeral settings such as the fruits, the street market (that exist in place only for a few hours ) etc. On the other hand we expected the audience to perceive the installation as a comment on the current economical crisis in Greece.
